Protein Review - Reflex R-Bar (Cookies & Cream)

Reflex are perhaps a lesser known brand and they're advertising their market niche as a fully 'natural' protein bar with no artificial flavours, no gluten or palm oil and 'naturally' sweetened with stevia and nut butters. But we'll have to see if this causes a compromise with the taste.

Protein Review - Fulfil Vitamin and Protein Bar (Cookies & Cream)

Fulfil have introduced a fairly interesting product that tries to distinguish itself from the competition by having both a high protein content bar but also with 9 added vitamins, to try to appeal to the  more health and micro nutrient conscious consumer.

Protein Review - MusclePharm Combat Crunch (Cookies 'N' Cream)

MusclePharm's combat crunch bars are marketed as having a unique baking process which supposedly means that the inside tastes like a 'soft batch cookie' (their words exactly). But as always, we'll see for ourselves how true that is.

Protein Review - BPI Sports S'mores Protein Bar

MusclePharm's combat crunch bars are a double layered protein bar with a whey centre and a coating of chocolate on the outside. They are marketed as having a unique baking process which supposedly means that the inside tastes like a 'soft batch cookie' (their words exactly). But as always, we'll see for ourselves how true that is.

Protein Review - Quest Protein Bar (Ltd. Edition Pumpkin Pie)

Now I'll say this first, I'm a sucker for anything limited edition, and when Quest released a new (at the time, perhaps not now) Pumpkin Pie flavour protein bar, I just had to try it. Though I have to admit, I have never tried pumpkin pie but I do like apple spice and cinnamon so I had high hopes for this new flavour.

Now, for all the different bars I will be trying, I will be rating them on five criteria: Taste (which is probably most important, and I will also judge it on taste accuracy, does it taste like what it says), Macros (and Protein:Calorie Ratio), Texture (or Mix-ability if it is protein powder), Cost (which can vary, I know) and finally a Bonus Column, which will take into account any other positive things such as additional vitamins/nutrients, improved texture from microwaving (I'm looking at you Quest) or even something that is completely unique to that product. Now, let the show begin.
